The other day, all the women at my workplace were saying in unison that “men who take a long time during sex are generally self-centered and bad at sex.” Do many women in papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) feel the same way?

When someone says a guy is bad at sex, I think it basically means: No one has ever pointed it out to him, so he can only have self-centered sex. Since his partner doesn’t feel good, he doesn’t get into it either and just keeps trying without being able to finish. As a result, it takes a long time—or at least feels that way. With someone who’s good in bed, I feel like you don’t really notice how much time has passed (lol).

Even the Kyoto University student and hostess who made ¥10 million from her dating advice blog says that, when it comes to bedroom etiquette, the ideal is: 15 minutes of foreplay, 5 minutes of teasing, and 15 minutes of intercourse. A lot of men seem to think that longer is always better. They may believe that premature ejaculation is bad, but taking a little extra time will make women happy. However, she says that isn’t necessarily true. Of course, this may not apply to everyone, but I think it does mean that many women feel this way.

It varies from woman to woman, so I think it’s best to communicate clearly about that as well. Assuming everyone is the same is self-centered. Since papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) involves an allowance, many women may put up with things to some extent. Let’s be careful not to become men who misunderstand the situation.

Who knows? Try making offers to around a thousand female members and asking them. Good luck.
