My regular job doesn’t pay much, so I make money through papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan). It’s fine for now.
But if you keep doing that and continue neglecting your regular job, you’ll regret it someday.

If that’s your income from papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) alone, I have to say it’s a little low. You can live a normal life, but probably not lavishly.
If you earn about the same from your regular job, then I’d say you’re doing fairly well. Even so, you wouldn’t exactly be living in luxury.

I’m sure there are people who receive more than you, as well as people who receive less. Everyone gives papa-katsu a different amount of weight in their overall lifestyle.

I think it’ll be a useful benchmark for the male members reading this as well. I don’t know—or really care—what the breakdown was, but the fact that 5 million yen a year is considered “only” 5 million is helpful to know. I think the fact that someone who gives 5 million yen a year can still be seen as “only” that generous could be an important guideline.
Personally, I’m relieved to know I probably don’t need to push myself that hard. Five million yen a year was a lot for me, so this is reassuring.
