If your favorite girl were in an accident and left with a disability, would you still treat her well? Would you continue paying her allowance? You’d dump her, wouldn’t you? You cruel people.

I’m Fuu, a columnist. Take care to avoid accidents and illness. Questioner, if you dated Fuu, would you look after me until I died? I’d give you money, of course(笑). Even if I developed dementia, I’d expect you to help with personal care too. If you’re a kind, non-cruel questioner, you wouldn’t abandon me, right? But if I said that, wouldn’t it sound way too heavy—and scary?! In marriage, perhaps both people promise to care for each other until death. But at a dating club, my understanding is that people date through an allowance arrangement, keeping things light and avoiding anything too serious.

I’m Flagmaker, a column writer. If that happened, I’d probably be the one to back off. I’d likely end up repeatedly wondering whether I’d been dumped.

I’m Dai, a male member. I’m not really sure, since I haven’t actually encountered that situation myself. And even if something like that had happened, would ending things really be cruel? How you should respond in the moment probably depends on how deep your relationship is with the woman.

I’m one of the less successful male members. It would sound self-serving coming from me, so I’ll refrain from answering directly. Instead, I tried imagining what would happen if I became poor. Say I’d been seeing my top girl for five years, and then my business went under. She’d probably leave me without a second thought (tears). Actually, I’d probably be the one to say, “Thanks for everything,” and walk away.

I’m Taro, a male member. If I had come to genuinely like her as a person, I think I’d naturally keep the relationship going. It wasn’t an accident, but I have experienced supporting someone whose illness was serious enough to require organ removal. She was hurt emotionally as well as physically, so I had to treat her with tremendous care. The allowance would have taken on a completely different meaning. By that point, it was no longer about an allowance anyway, but if she had been struggling, I believe I would have supported her as much as I could. She wasn’t like that, but some people carry incredibly deep emotional wounds, so maintaining the right distance is important. On the other hand, if she were only someone I viewed as a favorite at an adult entertainment venue, we might simply stop seeing each other. I would still treat her courteously. If you want to call that cruel, so be it. I’m not trying to win first place in some philanthropist competition. I don’t intend to change the world. It’s enough if I can help the women I genuinely care about.

I’m Kazu, a male member. It depends on why I like her and how much I like her. I wouldn’t make someone a favorite unless I genuinely liked her personality, so I’d probably continue seeing her and keep giving her an allowance. Above all, without that allowance, her daily life might become difficult, right?
