What do you think about giving a papa I’m meeting for the first time some homemade cookies? Would it make him more interested in me? If I only give them to him the first time, will he expect me to keep doing it?

I’m Fuu, a column writer. Let’s skip the allowance the first time and save it for special occasions—anniversaries, their birthday, Valentine’s Day, and so on. I’d be happy if we became closer over time. I’m a little nervous about the first meeting.

I’m Nana Ayase, a former underground idol♡ Cakes and cookies sent to celebrities are thrown away. That’s because they can’t eat food made by someone they don’t know when they have no idea what’s in it. So please don’t do this for your first papa. Some men don’t like sweets, and some have dietary restrictions because of diabetes. It’s better to wait until around your fifth meeting, once you know your papa well. He’ll be much more likely to accept it.

I’m Kazu, a male member. I’m not very good at making things myself, so I’d feel a little awkward receiving something handmade unless it came from a woman I’m genuinely close to and have been seeing for at least six months.

It’s me! The second time makes me happier. Of course, I’m happy when it happens the first time you meet too, but some guys might think, “So she would’ve done this for anyone.” On the first date, casually feel him out—ask whether he likes sweets and what he thinks of girls who cook. If you’re sure he’s into it, give it to him on the second date, saying, “I made this and thought you might like it!” Making it feel special is effective, and it also means you won’t be expected to do it every time. That said, if you do this with a guy who doesn’t want to get the wrong idea and think, “She’s totally fallen for me?!” it could become a hassle later lol.

I’m a male member who tends to lose out. Personally, I get all weak-kneed and think, “What a sweet girl,” so I can be easily taken in. The bonus points are huge—seriously. But maybe it’s better to steer clear. She might think, “This guy’s a nice one—perfect,” and then ask me to skip protection because I’ve had a vasectomy.

Maezawa from the President’s Office will answer this too. I feel like homemade food can come across as a little scary, so at first, store-bought cookies or something similar would probably be the safer choice. Once you’ve gotten closer and they say they’d like to try something you made, then bringing them something homemade seems like a good idea. > If I only give them something the first time, will they expect it from me going forward? I don’t think they’ll particularly expect it. They might think, “Oh, nothing today?” the second time, but I don’t think they’ll see you negatively just because you didn’t bring anything.
