I'm concerned about the smell of my intimate area. It smells particularly sharp when I smell the area itself. I don't have an STI—are there any ways to address this?

Maezawa from the CEO’s office here—I’ll answer this too. > “I don’t have any STIs, but…” I assumed this was from a man’s perspective, but if you’re stating that so definitively, are you actually a woman concerned about the smell of her intimate area? It feels like the appropriate response would depend on whose perspective this is from.

I’m Ayase Nana ♡ That sharp smell… please don’t go down on me anymore. It’s not an STI. Did you check the test results? Be sure to check the test results. To deal with the smell, take a bath together and gently wash the vulva with soap. You can stimulate the clitoris while you’re at it. Once you’ve rinsed off the soap with the shower, press the showerhead against the vagina to wash inside. Never wash inside with soap—you’ll get a yeast infection. After a quick rinse with the shower, a condom or something left by the previous man might come out(笑)

I’m a male member and pretty much a loser. As for women’s scent, I haven’t come across anyone particularly strong-smelling so far, so it’s never really bothered me. There was one woman whose private area had an odor, but as long as I tried my best during oral, everything else was fine, and we had an enjoyable relationship. That said, I’m extremely conscious of my own smell. I’ve even had a close regular partner check it for me, and I’ve hired part-timers to check my body odor and breath. I shower right before every dinner date—100% of the time—and brush my teeth, floss, and use mouthwash in the restroom at the date location. If I have time, I’ll use an interdental brush too. That’s why I always get to the restaurant ahead of time.

I’m Shingo Lee (Shingori), a column writer. A sharp odor is fairly common, but I can see why it might concern you. If you care about her, why not encourage her to get tested for STIs? It could be vaginal candidiasis, which usually stays dormant but can flare up when her resistance is lowered. Personally, as long as it doesn’t seem like an STI, I’m envious—I’d like to enjoy every kind of scent. In my case, if I drool too much while licking and end up licking the saliva away, the scent becomes weaker, so I try not to produce too much saliva. Or, put another way, wouldn’t the odor be less noticeable if you licked her while producing plenty of saliva?

It’s me. Women may also be concerned about a man’s scent in the same way. She may be putting up with various things so as not to hurt his feelings. If you look at it that way, it might bother you less. You may even come up with positive ideas, like making a few adjustments or putting up with it just a little.
