Actually, women’s names often overlap—even when using their full names, for a different reason.
So if there’s already someone with the same name, we ask the woman to register under a different name.
With a dating club, if two women have the same name, it could even happen that the wrong woman with the same name shows up at the meeting place. That’s why we make sure there aren’t any women with identical names.
(Although very rarely, mistakes do happen—usually with names that are merely similar.)
Of course, there are people in the real world who share the same full name, and society functions just fine despite that.
So if Universe Club had a properly designed system, having women with the same name wouldn’t be a problem. It’s just that the current system isn’t set up that way.
Incidentally, I hear that the online version of Dragon Quest was designed so that multiple players can have the same name. Apparently, Yuji Horii felt that since sharing a name is perfectly normal in the real world, it was strange to prohibit duplicate names in the game.
Before that, most online games worked on a first-come, first-served basis, so it was normal to be unable to use the name you wanted.
I suppose Universe is simply stuck with an old system, so there’s not much to be done.
As for registering names, something like what Mac-san suggested seems like a good idea.
For example, someone named “Emi” could be registered as:
Emi—big eyes and cute—
Emi—sexy and wonderful—
That might work well.
Come to think of it, back before LINE existed, when email was still the norm, there was this terrible piece of software called Outlook that would send your registered name to the other person as well.
I once realized that my registered name was being displayed to the recipient exactly as it was, and thought, “So this is the name I’m registered under?”

About 90% of the women volunteer their real names, but somehow I keep getting duplicates. Some of them are fairly unusual names, too, so I’m always wondering what kind of phenomenon this is.
By the way, I never fight. I run—run as far and as fast as I can. If I’m cornered in a dead-end alley, I just focus on defending myself and getting away with as little injury as possible.
I’m especially on guard against headbutts, while doing my best not to let them grab my hair. That alone usually helps me avoid becoming the aggressor.
If I’m with a woman, I have no problem dropping to my knees and apologizing to some thug.
