How do you handle the exchange of money?

I’ll answer this from my own perspective only. ① Regarding transportation expenses I think either at the beginning of the first meeting or when saying goodbye is fine. I give it to them when we part. ② If it develops into an adult relationship (intimate) I think you should discuss it when mutually agreeing on the terms beforehand. In my case, we usually talk it over and I pay afterward. When I do, I discuss the amount with the other person, including transportation expenses.
