I’ve become more motivated to work hard so my income doesn’t compare unfavorably with that of the other male members registered at the club.

In my case, it wasn’t that dating activities improved my business skills. Rather, because I had to cover the expenses, I pushed myself to the limit and worked harder at my business.
So, when you put it that way, I suppose that’s true...
If that counts as “dating activities improving my business skills,” then maybe so. But in terms of actual ability, I don’t feel like I’ve changed all that much.
