What was the best partner you’ve ever met through dating? I’d love to use your answers as inspiration for improving myself. I’d appreciate perspectives from both men and women. (I’m a man.)

I’m date◎yume, a male member. Like Basil, I feel that “there’s always another great girl who comes along, so my all-time best keeps getting updated.” There’s always someone better—and someone worse. It feels like there’s no end in either direction. I suppose it’s really about deciding where to draw the line, or where to settle(笑)

I’m Basil, a male member. Since new, wonderful girls keep appearing, my “best ever” keeps getting updated. The girl I’ve been seeing recently, who shares many of my hobbies, is the best so far. But I have a feeling someone even better will come along eventually and take her place. On the other hand, I’m still seeing the very first girl I met, despite taking a few breaks. She cancels at the last minute a lot, is quite selfish, and starts wanting to leave after we’ve been together for about an hour and a half, so she often has me running around after her. Once, when I complained, she even berated me for being immature toward someone as young as her. Yet for some reason, I never feel bad when I’m with her. Maybe she’s the type who wants to be spoiled by a mature man. There have been plenty of girls who seemed better on paper, but as I was writing this answer, it suddenly occurred to me that she might actually be my best ever.

I’m Saito, a columnist♪ Looking back on all my experiences, I have to say that the men who ended things gracefully were truly the best. One of them was in show business and personally let me know about his marriage before the official announcement. He’s still doing well today. Most of them ended up getting married, and we parted on good terms. Some went on to become successful company presidents, while others got married and built happy families. For men involved in papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), that feels like a positive kind of finish line.

I’m Seattle, a male member. I think she was the first person I met through Universe Club. She’s slightly curvy, around thirty, and the kind of Standard-class woman you could find anywhere. She has plenty to talk about, so the conversation never runs dry. When I asked her to speak casually, she did—and at the same time, she naturally treats me with respect. She also knows how to be sweet and affectionate. As luck would have it, she lives only 15 minutes away. When it comes to intimacy, she’s loud and gets carried away quickly, so it’s fun to watch. I don’t feel nervous about seeing her at all. I’m simply looking forward to our next date. We’re going to Okinawa together over the three-day weekend.
