I happened to discover my girlfriend’s papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) account on Twitter. It was a real eye-opener—and a huge shock—to realize just how much of it was all an act and all lies. At the same time, I learned a great deal from it. From now on, I’m even tempted to deliberately do things she might write about on Twitter, just to see how she describes them. Have any of you ever had problems, like getting found out, because of social media?

Kida here. I’ve been through something similar in the past. My ex-wife found out that everything I’d told her about my work had been an act—that I’d been lying about all of it. Yeah, it was awkward, but that experience gave me the chance to start a new life. You’ve overcome that huge shock, and now you’re trying to use it to have some fun. I like your positive attitude. (lol) I’m curious about what kind of lies they were, but couldn’t what’s written on that Twitter account be untrue as well? For example, imagine she told you, “I like you. I don’t need any other papas,” while you were seeing each other, but then tweeted: “Ugh, my third papa is seriously annoying.” I have a feeling neither of those reflects her true feelings. Her real self is probably somewhere in between. When she’s doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), maybe she puts on the full papa-katsu armor so she won’t get hurt, and then vents on a private Twitter account to maintain her emotional balance. I’m sure that, for her too, it would be easiest if someone could simply love her for who she really is. But she knows that would leave her vulnerable, so she puts on an act and tells lies. Isn’t that just a normal scene in the papa-katsu world? Show your appreciation for the lies she tells for your sake by being generous with her allowance. I think it’ll make you feel like even more of a man.
