For about three years after joining Universe Club, I worked with the goal of receiving an allowance of at least 100,000 yen per meeting, and I tried to raise the going rate at Universe Club to 50,000–60,000 yen or more.
Along the way, I ended up competing—or maybe fighting—with men offering 50,000 yen per meeting. I’m actually pretty frugal in everyday life. I live in an ordinary apartment, drive a Japanese car, and even think convenience-store bento is expensive, so I just buy prepared meals at the supermarket.
When I go on dates with women, I wear suits from Aoyama or Konaka. Since it’s all about how you wear it, I don’t see the point of wearing a million-yen suit. I do wear slightly expensive shoes, though. Shoes are hard to fake, so I polish them myself too.

I think it depends on the person, but even when someone seems clearly willing to offer more than my requested allowance, I simply won’t continue if we’re not compatible.

As long as both sides are happy with the allowance, that’s all that matters, right? In reality, though, it’s rare for both sides to agree, so people keep making offers one after another in search of their ideal arrangement.
