After joining, if you cancel on the day of your first date—or cancel without contacting anyone—you’ll be permanently banned, regardless of the reason. I believe canceling the day before is treated similarly, but if you can provide proof of a valid, understandable reason, you may only receive a lower rating and a note stating that you canceled the day before. For dates after the second one, your previous track record will be taken into account. For example, if you had shown up properly for 10 dates and had to cancel on the day of the 11th because your child developed a fever, you likely wouldn’t be banned, and your reason would probably be believed. (That said, the impact on the man emotionally and financially can still be significant.) If your children are still young and there’s a high chance you may have to cancel plans due to sudden fevers or illness, I don’t think you should register with Universe. It’s better to register once you’re at the point where you can make it to 99 out of 100 dates. Even if that one cancellation happens to be your first date, unfortunately, you’ll still be permanently banned. In the past, quite a few women have been permanently banned despite having genuine reasons. We’ve become extremely strict about same-day cancellations for first dates. (We do explain this during the interview as well.)

Me too, a little. Since that’s the club’s rule, if something like that happens at the first meeting, I think you just have to let it go. If it happens from the second meeting onward, once the relationship has begun, you can simply say, “Oh, I see. Take care of yourself. Let me know when you’re feeling better,” and leave it at that.

It will probably depend on the discretion of the staff at your branch, but unless it’s something particularly bad, I don’t think you’d be banned immediately. *I’m not part of the management, so I can’t guarantee that.* That said, I imagine your rating would take a major hit. If you do this right from the start, offers will likely become hard to come by, so I think it depends on how often you cancel.

You could also put something like this in your profile: “Because of my children, I may occasionally have no choice but to cancel at the last minute, either the day before or the day of. I’d really appreciate it if you could make offers through Letter Date whenever possible.” With Letter Date, there’s no penalty at all. That said, with Letter Date, you’ll only receive offers from men in the Black class. I have a regular monthly partner who got married and had children, but I completely understand her circumstances, so even canceling an hour before we’re supposed to meet is totally fine with me. Any papa (a male supporter) who throws a fit over a last-minute cancellation is clearly a third-rate man, so I think you’re better off not dealing with him.

If you suddenly cancel a date that a man offered you and the club arranged, you may be penalized with a forced removal from the club. Whether you’ll be penalized for canceling at the last minute while you’re still seeing the man depends on him.
