When making an offer to a female member, how much weight do you place on the star rating—the club’s assessment of her?

This content is machine-translated.
If a woman seems wonderful based on her profile and photos but has a low star rating, would you pass on making an offer? Or do you use the number of stars as your main basis for evaluating her? I’m asking because I’d like to learn from everyone’s experiences and insights. Thank you in advance.

Basically, I prefer making offers to women with fewer stars, like Type B or A. On the other hand, I usually don’t make offers to five-star women. One-star women are my absolute favorite. The club coordinator contacted me about one woman, saying: “She’s only someone Mr. Loser could handle, so please consider making her an offer.” So I offered her a letter date, but she’s canceled on me eight times in a row on the day of the date, and I still haven’t met her even once lol. She’s been downgraded from a one-star woman to a zero-star woman—not someone I’d make an offer to at all, I think. But I like women like this. Maybe I’ll try for the ninth time♡

Star ratings are only a rough guide. I usually make offers to women around B1, so I sometimes avoid five-star women because I assume they’re already going on plenty of dates.

> ★ Rating (the club’s assessment of a woman) The club does evaluate women, but its assessment is based mainly on feedback from men after their dates. So, in practice: ★ rating = a rating that’s close to the result of the dates men have had with her. And basically, the more dates she has, the more stars she tends to receive. So using the stars as a basis for judgment means judging her based on the results of other people’s dates with her—is that really okay? That’s something I wonder about. Of course, people might make judgments like: “She has lots of stars, so she must go on a lot of dates. I’ll choose a woman who doesn’t date as much.” Or: “She has few stars, so maybe she’s canceled at the last minute. On the other hand, she may not have been intimate with many different men, so I’ll make her an offer.” Still, I don’t think paying too much attention to the number of stars does you any good. Come to think of it, some women have recently asked me, “It’s okay to turn down an offer from a man with only three stars, right?” Sometimes I feel like I need to explain this to them. They don’t seem to understand that if a man hasn’t been a member for very long, even a good man may have only a few stars. Three stars isn’t actually a low rating, though. The same applies to women, of course. As Kazu-san said, it does say: “This is the club’s assessment of the woman.” However, it also says afterward: “The number of stars is based on the scores from post-date surveys and the rating guidelines below.” So it could be interpreted as saying that the club displays its assessment of a woman based on men’s feedback and the guidelines. (In other words, the club evaluates the woman, while also taking men’s feedback into account.) With that in mind, perhaps my original answer was slightly incorrect. That said, I still believe the rating is determined almost entirely by men’s evaluations. Perhaps it simply means that the club is the one officially assessing the woman. So I’ve revised my answer.

Women rated 1–2 have usually done something wrong—being late, canceling at the last minute, taking a long time to reply, and so on—so I avoid them. As for women rated 5 who have only recently joined, as other respondents have mentioned, they’re likely to receive plenty of offers. That’s why I tend to send offers to women rated around 4 who have been members for a little while.

I tend to focus on people who seem to receive relatively few offers, so in that sense, I often reach out to people whose ratings have stayed at three stars. As long as they aren’t obviously bad people, their ratings naturally go up as they meet more people. So when I see someone with a high rating, I just assume they’ve had a lot of meetings.

I don’t see it as a rating, so it doesn’t change my decision. It’s more an indication of how seriously she approaches the club and what her attitude is toward it. My impression is that women with five stars receive a lot of offers and are generally reliable. If a woman reaches five stars soon after joining, I assume she’s prepared to put effort into her club activities, and I’m more likely to think that a transactional relationship would work best with her. Having only one or two stars doesn’t affect whether I make an offer. Instead, it makes me curious about what kind of unique, free-spirited person she might be. Many of the women I’ve added to my favorites eventually move up to four or five stars, but as their rating rises, my desire to make an offer tends to decline.

Universe Junior High School Entrance Exam 【Question】 On Patro, men can give a woman a rating of anywhere from ☆1 to ☆5 after a date. One woman had an average rating of 4.08. What is the minimum number of men she must have dated? And what were the individual ratings in that case? 【Solution】 Since the decimal portion is 0.08, taking rounding into account, 1 ÷ 0.084 = 11.9, so she must have met at least 12 men. Assuming she met 12 men, the total rating needed to average 4.08 is 49. Let’s consider the possibilities, starting with the largest number of ☆5 ratings. If there were nine ☆5 ratings, then 49 − 5 × 9 = 4, so the remaining three ratings must total 4—in other words, one ☆2 and two ☆1s. If there were eight ☆5 ratings, then 49 − 5 × 8 = 9. Four ratings of ☆4 or lower can total 9 in the following ways: 4+3+1+1, 4+2+2+1, or 3+3+2+1. If there were seven ☆5 ratings, then 49 − 5 × 7 = 14. Five ratings of ☆4 or lower can total 14 in these ways: 4+4+3+2+1, 4+4+2+2+2, 4+3+3+3+1, or 4+3+3+2+2. Continuing this way, when there is just one ☆5 rating, there are eleven ☆4 ratings. However, having eleven ☆4 ratings seems somewhat unnatural. Incidentally: 1 ÷ 0.084 = 11.9 1 ÷ 0.075 = 13.3 2 ÷ 0.084 = 23.8 2 ÷ 0.075 = 26.7 So the possible total numbers of ratings that result in a decimal portion of 0.08 are 12, then 13, then 24, and then 27. Universe High School Entrance Exam 【Question】 As noted in the solution above, having eleven ☆4 ratings and one ☆5 rating seems unnatural. Assuming that, among all male members, the probabilities of giving ☆5 and ☆1 are each 30%, ☆3 is 20%, and ☆2 and ☆4 are each 10%, what rating distribution would be most likely if this woman had dated 12 men? 【Solution】 Nine ☆5 ratings, one ☆2 rating, and two ☆1 ratings—because ☆5 and ☆1 are the most common ratings, at 30% each.

I don’t pay much attention to ★3–5 in particular, because in general, those ratings naturally go up once someone has had a few arranged dates. As for ★1–2, those women are quite rare—only a few percent of female members—so I look into what led to them receiving those ratings. Whether I pass on making an offer depends on the reason behind it. Adding this after reading Maezawa-san’s answer: > ★ marks (the woman’s rating as determined by the club) > Huh? > The club determines classes such as Black, while the ratings themselves are basically the scores from male members’ post-date feedback, as I recall. I felt the same way, but when you click “About the ★ marks (ratings)” on the male members’ page, the explanation says, “These are ratings of women as determined by the club.” I believe this wording from your company is misleading, so I hope you’ll pass that feedback on to the person in charge.
