I’m 27 and live between Kagawa and Okayama. I’m thinking about signing up with Universe, but I’m torn between the Kobe and Hiroshima branches.

I think you should start by moving somewhere within the Osaka branch’s area. Between Kagawa and Okayama, Hiroshima is the closer option, but there aren’t many men in Hiroshima. Kobe has a reasonable number of men, but still fewer than Osaka. Many men make offers with the intention of continuing the relationship, rather than meeting just once. So when they look at your general location, a man from the Kobe branch may think, “Kagawa—or Okayama, for that matter—is a bit far, so meeting every week would be difficult.” Hiroshima probably wouldn’t give that impression, but if you don’t live in Hiroshima City itself, they may instead decide to look for someone they can meet when traveling to Osaka or Tokyo. If you’re confident you could reach Black or Platinum status—and might even command a premium—then moving to Osaka would probably bring in enough offers to quickly recoup the moving costs. You’ll get far more offers by moving to Osaka (or Tokyo) than by staying where you are and continuing to receive only a few. So, in the end, choosing between Hiroshima and Kobe feels like splitting hairs. There isn’t much difference either way.

There probably aren’t many female members registered in either Okayama or Kagawa, so it’s hard to say whether there are any beautiful women there. That said, the number of male members affects how many offers you receive, so I would recommend registering with the Kobe branch. Kobe also has Osaka as its hinterland, and people from the wider Kansai area may not feel that Okayama or Kagawa are particularly far away. On the other hand, men from Hiroshima may feel that Kagawa and Okayama are farther away than they actually are. As evidence, perhaps? Every year, the Hanshin Tigers hold an official game in Okayama at Kurashiki’s Muscat Stadium, but the Hiroshima Carp basically never hold official games there. People from the Kansai area go to Okayama without hesitation, and I get the impression the reverse is true as well. Hiroshima and Okayama, however, are similar in commercial scale and see each other as rivals. As for Kagawa, a friend of mine who lives in Kobe—a male member of Uchu Club—will go to Kagawa without hesitation to enjoy udon and women (laughs). I have no evidence for this, but even if men from Hiroshima like udon, they don’t seem to think of going all the way to Kagawa to eat it. So, my recommendation is to register with the Kobe branch.

Interviews and registration are free for women, so I think you’ll get a better idea once you sign up. If people only tell you that you’re cute or pretty, you might be Platinum—or possibly Gold. It’s hard to say without actually joining. Black members are also expected to have a good personality and strong communication skills, so you come across as a little too confident in yourself and, honestly, somewhat cringe. The papas choose which profiles they’re interested in, so the staff don’t have much to do with it. Your looks and the content of your profile will matter most. Since there aren’t many registered women in that area, I think there would still be demand for you as long as you’re young and attractive, even at Platinum or Gold.
