Just as men tend to prefer younger women, honestly, women also tend to prefer younger men.
You say there isn’t much difference between 55 and 60, but to younger people, there is. For example, a 20-year-old woman could have a 40-year-old father and a 60-year-old grandfather. Personally, I can’t really imagine doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) with someone around my grandfather’s age.
I’m in my late 30s, but until a few years ago, I considered anyone 60 or older to be elderly. Now I consider 65 and up to be elderly. My cutoff is based on the age at which someone can start receiving their pension.
So it’s possible that many people draw the line between their 50s and 60s. In fact, when I registered with Universe Club a few years ago—I recently re-registered after returning—I had set my preferences to exclude anyone over 60.

I think the age range of women you’d like to date is probably different from mine.
Where you draw the line really comes down to personal preference, so it’s hard to say.

For example, one of the women I see told me she couldn’t date anyone older than her own father.
It probably depends on the woman’s age, but I think some women in their 20s would prefer to keep it to around age 50 or younger.

When we were young, a year felt incredibly long, but these days, doesn’t a year seem to fly by?
There’s a theory about the relativity of time called the “proportional theory of time.”
It says that the length of time people perceive is inversely proportional to their age.
In other words, for a woman in her twenties, a five-year age difference is roughly equivalent to 15 years for someone in their sixties.
That’s a huge difference, isn’t it?

I think it simply means that, when someone tries to draw a clear line, that line seemed reasonable to them personally.
It’s probably better to get into the habit of thinking for yourself. Apparently, your mind starts to deteriorate if you don’t use it.
