How do you politely turn someone down when you’ve met, exchanged contact information, and then feel like you’re not really a good match—or when you meet a second time and realize it’s not going to work? Also, if you don’t feel you’re a good match but the man asks to exchange contact information, how do you respond?

I may not have received enough offers for this to be very helpful as a reference. That said, I remember that when I exchanged Line contacts with the person who offered me a letter date last time, he bombarded me with questions: “I use my real name! Why don’t you use your real name? What is your real name?!” I didn’t know how to respond. But— he left pretty quickly. The end.

I’m a man, but I’ll answer since this is something anyone can understand, regardless of gender. In a club, just as in ordinary dating, people rarely turn someone down explicitly. Most people, regardless of gender, tend to be evasive when they want to decline.
