I tried putting the emotional progression of feeling lonely into words: Lonely/sad → “I want someone to listen to me” → “I want someone to support me” → “I want someone to be kind to me” When it gets to that point, I can understand how the next step might be cheating. And I think it happens to men too, not just women—some people end up cheating because they feel lonely. If there’s a reason more women turn to cheating, maybe it’s because men are more likely to take advantage of negative emotions and go for that one chance? lol That’s me.
