I used to wear my hair with bangs and face-framing pieces, but I got rid of my bangs when I joined a dating club.
Thankfully, papa (male supporter) reception has been good, but I feel like I’ve become less popular with guys at university.
When I asked a close male friend at university, he said that long, straight black hair without bangs looks too mature and makes people feel hesitant to approach me because I look like I might be doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan). He also said that guys—by which I assume he means men around university age—prefer bangs to no bangs.
There’s someone I like at university, and I heard through a third party that he likes youthful-looking hairstyles. So I’m thinking of getting bangs and face-framing pieces again, but would having them make me less appealing to papa (male supporters)?
I think bangs are a matter of personal preference.

I like both styles—whether she has face-framing pieces with bangs or no bangs at all—as long as they suit her and look cute.
It’s a bit of a stretch to say that having no bangs means someone is a papa-katsu girl. I think it simply comes down to personal preference.
Maybe the person you like just happens to prefer face-framing bangs.

I think bangs are an expression of one’s identity.
That’s why people who like bangs probably prefer “girls who wear bangs,” while those who don’t probably prefer “women without bangs.”
The latter do tend to come across as more independent and self-assured. And people like you, who have the childish notion that you’d be more popular if you had bangs, are probably the former type.

Girls who are attractive will appeal either way, so if one style only appeals to one side and you have to choose, I’d go with whichever matters more to you right now.
There was a girl I’d invited whose bangs were different when we met, but I didn’t think anything of it.

Most women who receive a lot of offers usually have bangs, though.
I think the only person who believes it’s more appealing to papas is the questioner herself. By “papa,” she simply means the papas who made offers to her because she didn’t have bangs.
So it probably just comes down to personal preference—she happened to receive offers from men who preferred women without bangs.
In reality, there are more women with bangs, so I feel like that naturally means more of the women receiving offers also have bangs.
But in practice, there probably aren’t many men who care specifically about whether a woman has bangs or not. They’re more likely to make an offer based on whether they like her facial features.

I’ve been told, “You don’t need bangs. Your face is pretty, so show it off.” For a moment, I thought, “What are you talking about?” Sorry, I was just bragging about my papa.

As long as it suits you, I think anything is fine. Wouldn’t getting attention from people your own age make you happier than being liked by a papa (a male supporter)?

I think it really comes down to which option you prefer.
But honestly, for most papa (male supporters), whether the woman they’re seeing has bangs probably isn’t that important.
Unless it’s going to be a really dramatic makeover, you could ask your papa beforehand—or let him know you’re planning a new look—so he won’t be caught off guard!

I’ve never paid any attention to bangs.
This is the first time I’ve heard that having bangs—or not—affects whether you appeal to a papa (a male supporter).
Personally, I really couldn’t care less either way. I don’t even remember whether my monthly arrangement partner has bangs.

I’d assumed that since so many women wear bangs, they were popular with papas—especially those who make offers to students.
Personally, I dislike bangs so much that I hesitate to make an offer to women with heavy bangs.
