In my case, I usually suggest several possible dates when I make the first offer. If none of them work, I generally end up offering to someone else.
In the past, I met someone else that way and we got along well and continued seeing each other, so I haven’t offered again to anyone whose schedule didn’t work out initially.
I feel that whether your schedules align from the start often comes down to fate, which is probably why I handle things this way.
I don’t know whether the person who offered to you feels the same way, but I hope this gives you a useful perspective.

I only see one person at a time, so I would never do anything like that.
“Don’t chase those who leave, and don’t turn away those who come.” That’s my golden rule.

None of the people who made me an offer were like that. Most of them were wonderful men, except for one particular case...

It happens quite often.
Good papas are first come, first served, too. The woman who was able to go on the date on the day you couldn’t probably made a good impression.
She may have already secured a monthly arrangement.
There’s nothing you can do, so wait for the next offer.

If you tell a man you’re unavailable on his preferred date, he may accept a different date you suggest—but sometimes that’s simply the end of it because his preferred date didn’t work out.
Since you weren’t available on the date he wanted to meet this time, I think you should consider it a matter of bad luck and move on.
That said, if he’s still interested, he may make another offer a few months later.
Some offers are also limited to a specific date, such as when the man is in town on a business trip.
In those cases, he won’t reschedule for another day, so he’s probably making offers to other women instead.

That happened to me too!
I received an offer and rearranged my schedule to fit one of the dates suggested, but the meeting was canceled five days beforehand.
With COVID and everything, I figured it couldn’t be helped, but I was still a little sad. It felt like I’d been dumped without even realizing it…
That was my experience.

I’ve never withdrawn an offer, but there seem to be men who cancel.
So I’d say it probably happens fairly often.
