Reading the questions here, I get the impression that a lot of women are doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) while putting up with things for the money. Are there actually women who simply enjoy papa-katsu, regardless of whether the allowance is high or low? I’m seeing two women, but I suddenly found myself wondering whether they might be forcing themselves too.

I’m Potassium, a female member. I enjoy papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan). The best parts of papa-katsu for me are: - Being able to have meaningful conversations - Receiving support in the form of an allowance, which lets me work on myself—for both my papa’s sake and my own future Being able to work hard for someone gives me a positive outlook. At the same time, relationships where marriage isn’t even a consideration are generally the norm, so even if I develop genuine feelings, the money ultimately helps draw a boundary and keeps me emotionally grounded. The age gap with my papas is another appeal. I get to hear how older people think, talk about the economy, and listen to their life experiences. They also treat me affectionately and support me in becoming a better version of myself, which satisfies my need for validation. It makes me happy! Also, the way people think often reflects the life they’ve lived. Isn’t it amazing that someone like me, who still has so little life experience, can hear stories from people who have lived for 50 or 60 years? And I think it’s wonderful that I get to exist, even briefly, in that person’s life. For these reasons, I believe that being involved with a papa has value that money can’t replace. I can earn money myself if I work hard enough, after all... That’s why I like papa-katsu based on pseudo-romantic relationships, and why I think papa-katsu can be fun. Of course, it’s a given that the other person needs to be humble, see value in talking with me, not be focused solely on sex, and not try to haggle. I also try to remain humble and keep that in mind. When someone tries to bargain with me, my need for validation goes unfulfilled and I lose interest. It makes me think, “What am I, a boxed lunch that’s almost past its expiration date?” That’s just my personal opinion. Just my personal opinion.

I’m Kitahara from the staff, and I’d like to answer as well. There are also women who aren’t motivated by money. Women classified as Type E are often registered because they’re looking to expand their connections, meet new people, experience new stimulation, and enjoy life. So if you make an offer to someone who’s Type E, I think you may be able to enjoy the kind of fun relationship you’re looking for. We hope you’ll consider it.

When you’re close in age, you can enjoy a relationship with genuine feelings. But no one willingly chooses to date someone 20 or 30 years older who’s already past their prime… not without an allowance. Even without an allowance, dating a papa (a male supporter) allows women to enjoy higher-end dates than they could with younger men, so I think most of them are simply putting up with it. A lot of men mistakenly believe that the women they’re seeing genuinely like them and are dating them because they enjoy their company… but women will move on to someone offering a higher allowance. If you don’t want to be dropped without warning, you should make an effort.

Some people work for the money, while others simply enjoy their work, regardless of whether the pay is high or low. Isn’t papa-katsu the same way…? Just like with any job, some people are passionate because they’re doing something they want to do and enjoy. Life is better when you can do what you want and have fun.

I think it really depends on the person. These days, I only continue seeing men I can respect mutually and who don’t cause me stress. But when I was starting out, I met quite a lot of people, so I had all kinds of thoughts and experiences too. In the end, though, I’m glad I found a papa who’s a good fit for me. I hope you can aim to become the kind of papa your partner feels that way about.

Then why not make your willingness to put up with things your selling point and work harder? Papas who still won’t make an effort even when that’s what’s being offered should be a little more afraid, don’t you think? lol

I do papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) because it’s fun, and receiving an allowance is also part of what I enjoy. Marika

If they had enough money, they wouldn’t do papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) in the first place. So I think 99% of women are putting up with it for the money, with only the occasional exception who genuinely enjoys papa-katsu. I’ve met one such person at Universe myself. She said, “Guys my own age are so bad at intimacy that it isn’t fun, so I started papa-katsu.”

That’s probably because you’re reading questions from people who vent their frustrations by dumping garbage into the Q&A box and aren’t able to date through an elite dating club. If you peek into a place being used as a cesspool, you may feel like there’s a lot of shit there, but that’s just an illusion. That said, since these relationships are based on receiving an allowance, I think some compromise in exchange for the allowance is inevitable.
