Would it be rude to ask at the first meeting whether she is seeing any other male members? And would she answer honestly?

If they ask, do you answer honestly and tell them everything? Some women might answer honestly, while others might say, “I’m seeing a few people,” because saying, “I have 10 papas” might scare them off. If a woman honestly told you how many papas she has, and it turned out she had a whole lot of them, what would you do? lol You’d probably feel pretty down. Maybe it’s better not to ask?

It may depend on how you ask, but I’ve generally been able to get them to open up naturally after making it clear that I’m seeing multiple people—or else they’re lying to me completely. In the first place, if someone had one perfect papa, there’d be no need to see other papas. So I think that if you handle the conversation well, you can usually get an honest answer. I also think it has something to do with positioning. I tell them that I’m fine with multiple arrangements, and I probably come across as someone who’s easy to talk to, even when meeting for the first time. That may make it easier for them to open up. If the other person won’t accept multiple arrangements or tells me to quit the club, then I don’t think I’d have any choice but to lie. But, as Aya said, it’s also possible they simply don’t think I’m that great of a person(笑).

I usually get a sense of which answer the man is hoping to hear and respond accordingly. Most of the time, I’m honest about how many offers I’ve received, but I often say something like, “I haven’t actually entered into an arrangement with anyone yet…” —Akari

It wouldn’t be rude, but I’d say it’s a fifty-fifty chance that she’ll answer honestly. If you come across as an attractive man, she’ll naturally want to be liked by someone wonderful, so she’s more likely to say she isn’t seeing anyone.

It probably depends on your vibe and how you ask, as well as the woman’s personality.

You can ask, but there’s no guarantee they’ll tell you the truth. Whether they’re lying may become clear as you continue seeing each other—or they may manage to keep it hidden. Personally, I don’t see the point in lying, and I’m not that good at being deceptive, so I tell them everything. I think whether someone is honest depends on the individual.
