Men often tell me, “You seem kind just from your name.” Apparently, some people get a sense of someone’s personality or vibe from their name—for example, some men say they tend to imagine people whose names start with E as having a harsher personality. Do you ever get an impression of someone’s vibe from their name?

Not at all. For one thing, there’s a good chance it’s not even his real name…

If I were judging by initials, letters with rounded shapes, like R or S, would feel softer, while straight-lined letters, like A or E, would feel stronger. When it comes to the impression a name gives you, though, if you know someone with the same name, you’ll naturally associate it with that person. As for getting a sense of someone’s vibe or personality from their name…aren’t we all using club names anyway? I wouldn’t think anything of it, but I might wonder, “Did they really have nothing else to talk about?”

If we’re talking Initial D, I’d say it feels like “the fastest on the streets.” The execution is a little lacking.
