In papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), when we were talking about how using protection is essential, he said…
“But you do oral without protection, right? Japanese women don’t think they can catch something that way, so I honestly find that really strange.”
I was shocked.
I’d like to know whether everyone uses protection for oral as well.
Maybe that’s why this papa says he’s fine without oral.
My usual arrangement is to give him unprotected oral, followed by protected intercourse.
Since I receive an allowance, I always think about different ways to make sure we have a good time outside the bedroom too, but the time in bed is very important.
You may be wondering what the point of asking this is, but I’m not sure whether my approach is typical, so I’d really appreciate your advice.

Oral sex can obviously transmit infections too. That papa (male supporter) sounds like a good person. Maybe he realized you were scared because you didn’t know much about it and told you that you didn’t have to go through with it.

Women who give blowjobs with a condom on will be seen as sex workers and dumped by men.
If you’re that suspicious, you’re better off not doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan).

You shouldn’t perform oral sex without protection—it can transmit infections.
Because you may not know right away that you’re infected, you could pass something on to your child by kissing them.

As everyone has said, STIs can be transmitted.
I don’t think there are that many people with STIs, but people do come to this Q&A site for advice after becoming infected—or suspecting they have been. So I think it’s best to assume that there are definitely infected people out there.
In my case, perhaps because I’m getting older, I’m more embarrassed about getting infected than actually afraid of it（笑）. The woman I’m seeing is very young, but I’m quite strict with her about that. Of course, we don’t use condoms.

Infections can still be transmitted through oral sex, so I get tested for STIs separately.
I don’t have intimate relationships with multiple partners, and I assume the person I’m seeing is the same, but you can never know for sure.
I generally don’t ask for it myself, but when a woman offers, I do it without a condom.

The only people who have ever given me oral sex with a condom on were foreign trans women. So I’d say the person asking the question is the typical case.
I’m also worried about pharyngeal chlamydia, but I still receive oral sex without a condom. That’s why I don’t suggest an adult relationship unless I already feel, during dinner, that I genuinely want to date this woman.

I’m not sure whether it’s because of that papa, but lately it seems more women are saying either that they don’t want to do oral sex or that they want a condom used for oral sex as well.
Strictly speaking, that man is right, but as the questioner said, it used to be more common to go without protection for oral sex and use a condom only for penetration.
I think it comes down to whether the main concern is preventing pregnancy or preventing infections.
So if you’re worried about infections, a condom should be used for oral sex too.
That said, even though more women may be asking for it, I still feel that most people don’t use a condom for oral sex.
