I want to check my partner’s phone, even though I know there’s a good chance they may have left something somewhere else.

You weren’t secretly photographed during the act—you consented to having the pictures taken, didn’t you? If that’s the case, I feel like there’s not much you can do.

I don’t know what kind of photos were taken, but if they ever get leaked, wouldn’t you have no choice but to insist that they aren’t you and that you know nothing about them?
Personally, though, I think you have to take responsibility for letting them take the photos in the first place.
I don’t think meeting up to check what’s in them would accomplish anything. If you confront someone who’s already under suspicion, they’re far more likely to get angry and think, “Maybe I should just post them online!”

Even if you check their phone, you won’t be able to find anything if the photos have been backed up to the cloud. The same goes if they’ve been copied to a computer or somewhere else.
So even if you’re worried, I think all you can do is trust the other person.
In other words, the important thing is to only let someone you trust take your photos.
