Apparently, English has a slang term: “sugar daddy.”
Taken literally, it means “sugar papa,” but it refers to a wealthy, middle-aged or older man who gives money to younger women.
The women are called “sugar babies”—essentially, the female participants in papa-katsu.
It seems to be a thing in the United States, though I’m not sure about Europe.
Personally, I’d love to see Universe Club expand into rapidly developing parts of Southeast Asia and help create a papa-katsu culture there.
That’s just my personal wish, though.

It does exist, but Japan may be unique in having an allowance for dinner-only dates. I don’t think there are places quite like hostess clubs or lounges, either. In the end, sex is expected.
