I imagine the accessories you receive from men may feel completely different from your own personal taste, so when it comes to something you bought yourself, I think it’s fine to explain that aspect.
Just as it might feel out of place to see a high school student riding the train with a Louis Vuitton bag, perhaps the accessory looks like it was given to you because it doesn’t match your own vibe.

I’d think most people would buy it themselves. What a rude man.

I’m sorry you had to go through that… Maybe you were suspected because you’re a woman doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), but he was really insensitive.
I’m not very interested in accessories—in fact, if I had enough money to buy expensive jewelry, I’d invest all of it instead—so until now, I’ve only worn pieces costing less than 1,000 yen.
Sometimes a papa (a male supporter) will suddenly buy me something, but I generally only wear those pieces when I’m meeting that papa.
Partly because I don’t want to be perceived the wrong way, and partly because I feel uncomfortable showing off something another person bought for me in front of someone else.
Everyone’s different, but maybe it’s better not to wear those things while doing papa-katsu.
