It’s true that “going natural” is basically a man’s selfish preference. I admit that. But some people deliberately use dating clubs (at a very high cost) because they want a world where desires that can’t be fulfilled elsewhere are accommodated. Isn’t that similar to a woman’s selfish request to “pay ¥50,000 for dinner only”? If such unreasonable preferences aren’t accepted, where do the staff think the real benefits of dating clubs lie? Isn’t the appeal unique to dating clubs—something that other adjacent services can’t replace—the freedom to set your own preferences? Isn’t that the appeal of a made-to-order arrangement?

Thank you for your question. Kida here with an answer. Osaki’s “NO SKIN MY LIFE” somehow got overwhelmingly more likes than anything else. I honestly don’t get it (lol). This is just my personal opinion, but— In this day and age, when you can buy home appliances with Bitcoin, don’t you find it strange that there are still no ways to prevent pregnancy besides condoms, the pill, and IUDs? They even said on *Sekai Fushigi Hakken!* that condoms were made from sheep intestines back in medieval times. Then they announce, “We’ve made a 0.01 mm version!” and you can’t help thinking, “Huh? That’s it?” It’s like releasing an ultra-high-performance flip phone. What I’m trying to say is that some kind of iPhone app that could prevent pregnancy and STIs has probably already been developed. It’s just being kept as a top-secret matter between governments. Because no-skin is exciting precisely because you’re not supposed to do it. If people could casually enjoy no-skin—or if perfect contraception existed—birthrates would drop way too much. Until you found out that the “semen” in adult videos is actually egg whites mixed with condensed milk by an assistant director, you were probably excited by “creampie AV,” too. And until you learned that the nursery-school teacher and female college student job-hunting in those Magic Mirror vans were actually plants, the words “Magic Mirror” probably got you excited on their own. So, you see— If most of the women you meet through a dating club started saying, “Sure, let’s go raw!” then afterward, you wouldn’t know what you were supposed to get excited about. Dating clubs are indeed about “freely indulging your fantasies,” and their appeal lies in being “custom-made.” But when it comes to no-skin— Wouldn’t it be better if it remained a rare opportunity, fulfilled only once in a while—rare enough to move you to tears when she says, “Okay. It’s because I like you”?

I’ll answer by adding Seki from Universe Fukuoka’s perspective as well. I’m not a papa-katsu woman, but I’ll share my thoughts as a woman. My apologies if I’ve misunderstood the point. There are certainly some women who want ¥50,000 just for dinner. If someone told me that, I might honestly think, “How presumptuous!” I can actually relate more to a man who chooses not to pay after being asked for ¥50,000 than to a woman who feels resentful that she “didn’t get paid.” Presumably, the reason a man wouldn’t pay that amount for that arrangement is because he considers it “a waste of money” or “not worth the price,” isn’t it? In the same way, even when the woman is involved in papa-katsu, perhaps she may refuse intimacy without protection because, when weighing the amount offered against the risks, she feels it simply isn’t “worth it.” Of course, it’s possible not to become pregnant even without protection, but there may still be the anxiety while waiting for her period, discomfort toward the man, and damage to—or growing strain on—her self-esteem as a woman. These feelings could also continue for a long time. If she were to become pregnant and have to consider an abortion, it would no longer be merely a matter of money. One major point is that it would go beyond the realm of personal freedom or selfish preferences. If a man desires a woman’s body, my honest feeling, both as a woman and as a club staff member, is that he should care about her enough to ensure she doesn’t get hurt in the same way. That said, if the woman is taking the pill and both parties have built up a relationship of trust before agreeing to it, I personally think it may be acceptable. However, if you negotiate intimacy without protection from the very first date, please think carefully about the possibility that it could negatively affect the impression she has of you before bringing it up with her.
