Taking his claim that he’s a member of another dating club at face value, lol— If you’re doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) on the assumption that sex will happen, the main dangers for women are probably: - Being subjected to violence - Having your money taken That’s about it, right? Assuming sex itself isn’t considered dangerous, lol. At a chain karaoke box, the security cameras are running, and the staff would help you if you tried to escape. So in that sense, wouldn’t it actually be relatively safe? A hotel is more dangerous because you’re in a private room with no easy way to get away. The real issue isn’t whether he’s an older man, but whether he himself is a dangerous person. There are some suspicious dating clubs out there, so I recommend papa-katsu through Universe Club. It’s safe.

The questioner is male, in his teens, and says he’s a member of another dating club—so you meet older men, right? A male-to-male dating club is completely different from Universe Club, which caters to opposite-sex arrangements. I know some gay men, and it seems that things can move very quickly in some cases. In any event, I don’t know enough to be of much help.

I’m not sure whether calling him “uncle” is considered common, but the way this is written gives me the impression that it’s the same person as usual. Normally, I’d expect someone to write something like “a man I’m meeting for the first time” or “a papa (a male supporter) I’m meeting for the first time.” Am I the only one who thinks that? Anyway, getting to the main point, I’m not sure what you mean by “dangerous” or what specifically you consider dangerous. Normally, no matter who you go to karaoke with, it’s extremely unlikely that you’ll lose your life in Japan. In that sense, it wouldn’t really be considered dangerous. But if you consider something dangerous simply because it isn’t absolutely risk-free, then even just walking down the street would be dangerous. So unless you explain what exactly you consider dangerous, it’s impossible to say whether it is or not. As I mentioned above, under normal circumstances, it doesn’t seem dangerous. Oh, did you mean “uncle” as in a relative? In that case, I don’t see anything dangerous. Or are you looking for an answer along the lines of, “You can’t necessarily feel safe just because he’s a relative”?
