Thank you for your question. I’ll answer as Maezawa as well.
The previous dating-type system had categories A through E. Type D was for women who were proactive, though they might still turn someone down. Type E was the most proactive; they generally wouldn’t refuse, but might do so if the allowance didn’t meet their expectations.
(That wasn’t the exact wording, but that’s roughly what it meant.)
That was the distinction between them. So even with Type D, a man could still be turned down based on appearance or chemistry, which set it apart from Type E.
However, there were opinions like, “You don’t get turned down with Type D anyway, so there’s no need for Type E,” and that eventually led to Type E being discontinued. (Although it continued to exist under a different meaning.)
That said, when Type E still existed, there were men who were turned down even by Type D...
Considering that background, personally, I don’t think Type D is unnecessary—but I’m not sure.

This may sound like bragging, but I’ve actually been turned down by both C and D.

This may sound like I’m bragging (lol), but I’ve been turned down at the very first stage—before things even got to an invitation, including having an offer rejected.
I’m not handsome like Mac, nor am I a greasy, unattractive guy like some ordinary male members (lol). I’m just a full-on lecherous old man from the countryside, so I suppose it can’t be helped (tears).

It’s not a matchmaking arrangement—there’s an allowance involved…
As long as he’s a decent, ordinary-looking guy, even if he’s unattractive, he won’t be turned down.

It’s been a long time, everyone.
This is Ryo, a female member.
I’m a woman in my 40s with a C-type profile, and I’ve turned down several of the roughly 15 offers I’ve received.
In some cases, I met them first and then declined; in others, I declined during the message-exchange stage.
Please don’t assume that being a C type means you’ll automatically get a yes.

It’s nothing to brag about, but I’ve never been turned down by a Type C woman either.
That said, I still go on first dates wondering whether I might be rejected, and I’m sure there are people out there who do get turned down.
Just remember that the world doesn’t revolve around you.
