I’d be really curious too, haha.
That’s why I keep a low profile and sneak around so I don’t attract attention, haha.

Exactly! I used to think that was a minor detail, but it may actually be important. If the woman is self-conscious about it, you can sense that, and before long your date plans start feeling more like secret rendezvous. Secret rendezvous can be fun sometimes, but I think you’d get tired of them pretty quickly.
In that sense, compatibility in a relationship may also include whether you share a similar sense of what’s enjoyable.
Of course, it’s not like I don’t care at all about how other people see us lol. I’ll be considerate and act appropriately, but if I realized my partner was worried about other people’s eyes, I’d feel bad and probably want to cancel the date and just go home.

If you’re doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), like the person asking the question and the rest of us, you might be curious.
But if you aren’t, they’re simply a man and a woman, a couple, acquaintances, business associates, or family members—nothing to wonder about.

I’m concerned.
He doesn’t hold hands with me in public,
won’t walk with me in crowded places,
and prefers private rooms whenever we eat.
He’s very careful about it.

I don’t go out together with a woman 24 years younger than me in places where we’d attract attention. Even if I’m fine with it, I’d feel bad for her.
I generally book private rooms at restaurants, enter and leave separately with some time in between. We also travel to the hotel separately—not even taking the same taxi. Of course, we leave the hotel separately as well.
There’s one woman in a monthly arrangement who likes walking around town arm in arm, so I do go on dates with her together.

It doesn’t bother me.
As for my mindset, I don’t pay attention to other people, so I assume they don’t pay attention to me either.

My papa has a look that could rival a yakuza’s, so once I told him, “Please stop arguing with me on the street—it makes it look like I’m being extorted,” and he burst out laughing.
Something similar happened earlier while we were happily having dinner together. At a table a little farther away, there was a rather awkward-looking age-gap couple who stood out a bit. They didn’t seem very used to each other yet, and maybe they couldn’t think of anything to talk about—they kept looking at the table or fiddling with their napkins.
I feel like it would be even more embarrassing if things seemed that awkward. I’m basically smiling the whole time I’m with my papa, so I don’t think anyone would get the impression that I’m some girl being forced to have dinner with an old man.

I’ve had boyfriends ranging from their 20s to their 40s, and when I was 30, I also had a papa (a male supporter) in his late 60s. It never bothered me.
If you act sneaky, look embarrassed, or keep checking who’s around, you’ll look incredibly pathetic, so you’re better off not doing that.

It doesn’t bother me at all♪ Even before joining the club, my ex-boyfriends were sometimes 15 years older than me. Even with a 20-plus-year age gap, once I’m in “girlfriend mode,” I don’t care what anyone else thinks! ^^
