I’m Taro, a male member.
When I first joined Universe, I had about three cases like that, but none of them worked out. Looking back, though, I think I could have turned two of the three into something more.
These days, I take a short-term approach. By the first or second meeting, I bring up the terms of the arrangement. Of course, I don’t come across as pushy—I create a comfortable atmosphere and let the conversation flow naturally. It’s a difficult subject to bring up, but I think properly setting the stage for that conversation is what “taking the lead” means. Thanks to that, since last year I haven’t had a single Type B relationship that ended up being dinner only three times in a row. My success rate isn’t 100%, but in most cases where things didn’t work out, I also wasn’t interested, so I’m satisfied with how things turned out. In short, I think it’s important to make your intentions clear by the second meeting.
The idea that a Type B relationship will last a long time is the questioner’s fantasy. I understand wanting to believe, “She doesn’t easily let her guard down, but she opened up to me, so she must be completely into me.” But in reality, it’s simply you, getting excited by that fantasy, who’s keeping the relationship going. I think there are plenty of cases where Type C relationships last a long time with a calm, comfortable distance. At an even more advanced level, people say that among sex workers, soapland workers have the deepest “true love.” If you’re going to chase a fantasy, you might as well take it that far.

I’d say you’re the male equivalent of a B type leaning toward C.
Women who are C-leaning B types tend to start dating on the first or second meeting.
With others, you may part ways after meeting once or twice, but I think almost everyone you’ve met three times or more has agreed to date you.
In a sense, for a genuine B type, meeting three or four times can itself be a sign that they’ll eventually say yes. There’s no need for the man to pressure her, and the woman isn’t hoping for that either. Once she feels comfortable, she’ll agree. If he seems pushy, she can simply walk away, and the man will eventually give up if he realizes it’s not going to work.
I think the people who can both enjoy that process without finding it painful are genuine B types.
