There seem to be a lot of questions about the issue of paying the allowance upfront.

I've received several offers so far, and about half the men paid upfront while the other half paid at the end of the date. Personally, I feel, “As long as I receive it, either is fine, but I feel more at ease when I’m paid upfront.” Even though there’s an understood rule of paying upfront, and many men know that women feel more comfortable receiving the allowance at the beginning, it seems that more men choose to pay afterward. Why is that? lol I wonder if it’s because women may want to be paid upfront but can’t bring themselves to say so directly at the time. Perhaps, at least to some extent, they’re thinking about how asking might turn the man off. There’s also the fear of coming across as too eager and making him lose interest... lol Still, I think women feel awkward bringing up money themselves. Whether the allowance is paid upfront or afterward, it’s still the man who gives it and the woman who receives it, and the time you spend together doesn’t change, right? Some men have said that handing over money can kill the mood, but isn’t paying afterward more likely to make the enjoyable time end on a sour note at the very end? This is just my personal opinion, but although the relationship itself is connected by money, I also want to believe that “it’s not only about the money.” To me, that means I want us to genuinely enjoy the time together, rather than seeing it as something to endure or suffer through. That may be a little different from a man wanting to believe it’s “not only about the money,” but this is a dating club, after all. When a man brings it up himself and pays me upfront, I feel reassured. Since so many men dislike paying upfront, I feel that he’s taking the woman’s feelings into consideration. I find that gentlemanly. That’s why it makes me want to value the time afterward and enjoy it together.
