I don’t think you absolutely have to tell them. That said, these days, if it were the Unification Church, it might be hard to bring up. If you don’t want to, just lie. That applies to everything.
I’ve never met a woman who was trying to recruit people into a religion. Maybe that sort of thing is unpopular, so business is slow. If it were men, though, they might be able to make a business out of targeting women who seem susceptible, making them an offer, and bringing them into the fold. If that happened, it would be a booming business.

Since you’re a member of the salon, you know they don’t get involved with religion, right? They won’t ask you anything.
And joining for the purpose of proselytizing would be pretty inefficient, so I doubt anyone does papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) for that reason.
