Is this a bit outdated?
I’ve heard that people wear thongs with skinny jeans so their panty lines don’t show.
My wife has a whole bunch of sexy “special occasion” panties. Whenever she says, “I’ll be late because of a company dinner,” I sometimes spot an especially daring thong in the laundry and think, “Ah, she’s been at it again” (lol).
We’re close as partners and as a family, but for certain reasons, we’re in a sexless marriage. I’m fine with my wife going out and enjoying herself, just as I do.
Actually, one reason Fuu started papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) was that my wife started fooling around first. So I thought, “Oh, great—then I can enjoy myself without feeling guilty, too!”
People here sometimes talk as if it’s only men’s fault when they cheat, but don’t forget that there are just as many women willing to be the other woman (lol).
Sorry for going off on a tangent. I ended up writing quite a long post.
I might write about why my wife and I became sexless in a column sometime.

I don’t really have what you’d call “special occasion underwear” (do people still say “sexy underwear” these days?! Is that term outdated?).

I think it really comes down to personal preference. Men have their preferences too—some like boxer briefs, while others prefer boxers.
Women who like that tend to wear thongs—or rather, G-strings—all the time.

When I lived abroad, most of what was sold in stores were thongs, so that’s what I wore. Since they’re not as mainstream in Japan, I usually wear regular underwear here. But if I’m asked to wear a thong, I will.
