I remember reading a comment by Saito-san♪ in one of his answers or columns saying that there are wealthy, depraved men who put collars on women, make them crawl on all fours, and feed them as part of their sick games—and that it made him feel disgusted. So I suppose people like that really do exist. Absolutely the worst. I’ve also heard unbelievable stories secondhand, like men cutting off all four limbs, turning a girl into a “daruma,” and then raping her. When I hear about monsters like that, even the Carlos cult starts to seem kind of harmless. Not that they’re harmless at all—it just makes me realize that there are always even worse monsters out there.

Yes, they do. It’s probably not so much that being wealthy makes someone that way, but rather that people who already have those kinds of interests gain money and use it as a tool to easily fulfill their desires.
