He asked, “When can we meet next?” and we continued having normal conversations, but then he suddenly left me on read. After that, my messages remained unread… so I sent him a goodbye message. He finally read it on the 10th day, so at least I knew he was okay, but does this mean my papa cut me off? Is this kind of breakup common?

I’m Ayase Nana ☆ If someone leaves me on unread for about a week, I assume it’s over and block them, but it seems the other respondents don’t necessarily see it that way. For now, don’t send anything and just leave them alone for a while. It’s also possible they thought they’d sent a message, but it never actually went through. This time, you already sent a goodbye message, so there’s no going back—but next time, just leave things alone for a while.

I’m Dai, a male member. He may think that you’ve cut him off. Since you suddenly left him on read and then continued not opening his messages, something may have come up on your end. If you didn’t intend to end things, I feel it might have been better to wait a little longer before sending a goodbye message.

I’m Aya, a female member. I don’t think it happens very often. It’s never happened to me. But maybe they just happened to find replying too much of a hassle, so it’s hard to say.

I’m Kazu, a male member. If you were the one who brought up breaking up, weren’t you the one who ended things?
