Since my papa (a male supporter) gives me presents, should I ask him, “Is there anything you’d like for Christmas?” as a matter of courtesy?

The most important thing about a gift is the thought behind it. Joe believes it’s not about etiquette. Just follow your heart, questioner.

Maezawa from the CEO’s Office here. If you ask what she wants and she names something expensive—maybe not particularly expensive given the man’s income, but expensive from her perspective—it could become a significant burden, so I think it’s better not to ask. As a matter of courtesy, it seems best to prepare a surprise gift within your means.

I’m Kazu, a male member. I think asking would be risky, so in that case, it’s probably better not to ask and instead have a cute gift ready.
