I’m Maezawa from the CEO’s office, and I’ll answer this as well. As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t know the reason myself either. It’s just something I’ve observed through experience. There was one rare case where another staff member photographed a woman wearing mostly black when she registered, and I reshot her about a month later. She contacted us saying, “I’m not getting any offers—what should I do?” When I looked at her photos, she was wearing black, so I explained that point and asked her to bring several outfits herself. We did another shoot, changing her outfit from black to white. The woman who hadn’t received any offers suddenly got several offers right after the reshoot. After that, what had previously been just a vague impression that white clothing was better became more certain in my mind—white really does seem to attract more offers. That said, I’ve never heard any men say that they prefer white, so I still don’t know the reason. Even so, white outfits consistently receive more offers than black ones. Recently, however, Universe has started incorporating more black into its interiors, so the backgrounds are no longer almost entirely white like they used to be. It’s possible that the change in background could also affect which clothing colors are more likely to attract offers. That said, we also do outdoor shoots, so I’m not sure how much of an impact it would really have.

I think it’s because it doesn’t look as flattering in photos as other colors. The room where Universe takes photos is bright and mostly white, right? They also make sure the lighting is good. I think you should choose a color that photographs well and suits you personally. —Matsurika

I’m Fuu, a column writer. Isn’t it because, unless you’re exceptionally attractive, the whole thing has a rather gloomy image? I imagine it’s also because papas tend to prefer girls who look youthful, clean and wholesome, and cheerful. It all comes down to the balance between supply and demand. If you want to be chosen and become popular with offers, it’s important to meet your papa’s needs.

I’m Kazu, a male member. I don’t think you can tell unless you take profile photos of the same person in black clothes and in non-black clothes, for example. As Maezawa-san also wrote, it seems the reason isn’t clear. https://universe-club.jp/help/questions/view/10110

I’m Dai, a male member. I don’t think I personally mind women wearing black, but looking through the women I’ve favorited, I noticed that none of them wear black from head to toe.
