We humans haven’t evolved much since the hunter-gatherer era—back when we were chasing mammoths.
Women originally considered men who brought home plenty of prey valuable and recognized them as “handsome,” so there was no real unhappiness. After all, they only encountered around 100 men over the course of their lives.
But in today’s world, the definition of “handsome” has come to mean someone who looks good. The person who brings home plenty of prey and the person who looks attractive have become two different people.
Your brain probably judges your friendly papa (a male supporter) as “someone who brings home plenty of prey, but isn’t handsome,” so even though you get along well, you don’t want his genes. By contrast, your brain decides that you want the genes of younger men who are more attractive than your papa.
Your brain is perfectly normal in modern society.
If that causes you pain, there’s no room for improvement—because you’re normal. To make your life better, you should probably say goodbye to your papa.
Try to work toward getting financially supported by younger men.

First, I think you need to sort out whether:
① You get excited when he’s your type,
② You feel really fulfilled when you’re with a younger man,
—or whether it’s both.
Is any young man fine, or does age not matter as long as he’s your type?
If age doesn’t seem to matter when he’s your type, then perhaps the papa you’re currently seeing simply isn’t your type.
By analyzing yourself, I think you’ll gradually figure out what you should do going forward.
